Live at Leeds 2019

Ferris and Sylvester
Wardrobe, Leeds
Ferris has a beautiful folky voice which breaks into a raw and hoarse Janis Joplin.
I would describe their sound as country music but with sass. It was a wonderfully varied set ranging from withdrawn heartwarming to positive rocky songs.
They interacted so well and comfortably. They even matched - her with a striking ruffly white jumpsuit and bright red guitar and him with his red shirt.
Their harmonies meshed well together. They were very clever with using two people. They both sang most of the songs, in unison and harmonised which made when they took it in turns more powerful.
Even though, there were only 2 of them, they were playing all different parts of the band. They were both singing, she played the bass, he played the guitar and hit the drums with his feat. They are truly talented musicians.
They had so much energy. They were so excited. They were so happy and really knew how to excite an audience. More than not the songs involved audience participation. There was clapping, clicking and HUHs.
The atmosphere was quite unusual. It was in a bar and they were performing on the dance floor. They still managed to cast a spell and make the audience smile over the all of the background chatter.
Buzzard, Buzzard, Buzzard
Leeds Beckett Student Union
The set was literally kicked off. The song began and the singer did a superbly high kick which featured multiple times throughout the set - a trademark move. The singer was a personality, he pranced and wiggled around the whole of the stage. It was like he was made out of plasticine and had ants in his pants. He reminded me a bit of the Lemon Twigs body language.
Their music is extremely high energy, the drummer was going absolutely mental. There was so much sound even when they were playing at half the pace. The music is extremely funky, bassy and happy - psychedelic punk rock. I think that the music reflects the band members who are also extremely high energy as when the singer was talking to the audience he was talking so fast it was like he was a tape on fast forward.
They thoroughly represented their songs through their identity. They have a song named 'Double denim hop' as wearing double denim is a very bold statement. Also they sang a song called 'John Lennon is Jesus Christ' and just as the song began the lead singer whipped off his jacket to reveal a Beatles Tshirt.
